If you’re looking to re-locate to the Dallas/Fort Worth area (or maybe even move from somewhere a bit nearer here in Texas), you’ll be pleased to know that there are various amounts of activities that Dallas can offer you to help keep you busy and entertained. From history to the arts to fun traditions, you should know that Dallas is home to some pretty great activities and things to keep you busy! You Can’t Beat The Shopping: There are an incredible amount of places to shop all around Dallas, including the city’s West End MarketPlace, which houses various shops, restaurants and attractions. In fact, it’s Dallas’ oldest entertainment area and is the downtown spot for many of the street festivals and other special occasions that take place in the city. Plus, you’ve also got the North Dallas Galleria, our city’s main mall in which you’ll be able to find everything you need and more to stay in true Dallas fashion. Dallas is Home to Fun Traditions: Whether it’s the downtown annual street festivals or a yearly sports game, the Red Rivalry, we live and die by our traditions. Some of our favorites are the Dallas Bloom, a festival featuring more than 300,000 spring-blooming bulbs and 20,000 flowering azaleas in March. Be sure not to miss the Prairie Dog Chili Cookoff! This is the granddaddy of all North Texas cook-offs where attendees are urged to come hungry! Dallas is One of the Friendliest Cities: There are so many reasons to adore Dallas and one of the best reasons is because how friendly our residents are. They don’t call it Southern Hospitality for nothing: our neighbors know their neighbors and aren’t afraid to introduce themselves to new people. If you’re looking to move to one of the friendliest places in the US, Dallas should be on your list! The Music Scene is Outstanding: Deep Ellum (a corruption of “deep Elm Street” according to Wikipedia) is an incredible neighborhood filled with arts and entertainment venues in Old East Dallas, Texas (it’s sort of like our version of Broadway). But the magic of Deep Ellumresides in its historical music and artistic jazz roots from the many performers who frequented the area. It has more bars and nightclubs than another district in the area and there’s always something happening at Deep Ellum no matter the time, day or not. Home to the Arts: Speaking of artistic roots, Dallas is no stranger to the arts. In fact, we have an entire district, The Dallas Art District, that’s dedicated to the arts. It’s home to 13 facilities and organizations that include the Dallas Black Dance Theatre, the Dallas Museum of Arts, One Arts Plaza,Winspear Opera House and more. The art festivities include everything from concerts to outdoor festivals, to lectures, youth arts education programs and more. If Dallas isn’t on your list for top US cities to relocate to, you may want to reconsider. Besides the beautiful weather all year long, we’re home to great shopping, amazinghistorical sites and a large art and music scene that all add to the amazing experience of living in Dallas, TX.
