The housing market continues to be strong in Collin County as reflected by the most recent stats released by the Collin County Association of Realtors (CCAR) for February 2016 as compared to February 2015:
New Listings were up 21% to 1,479 in February 2016 compared to 1,222 in February 2015
Closed Sales Reported for February 2016 were 950, up 5.7% from February’s 899 number.
Average Sales Price rose 4.9% to $320,584 in February 2016 compared to $305,654 in February 2015
Median Sales Price rose 7% to $283,500 in February 2016 compared to $265,000 in February 2015
Percent of Original List Price Received remained consistent at 98% for both years
Days on Market Until Sale dropped 1 day from 43 days in February 2015 to 42 days in February 2016
These numbers all signal good news for both sellers and buyers. Escalating prices point to an increase in worth of the largest major investment made by most people: their home. A significant contributing factor could arguably be the number of companies moving into the area which is creating more competition for the homes available for sale.
