Coppell is under construction! As you know we undergoing big changes. For example the Coppell Dog Park is underway, Downtown is is coming a long, Andy Brown East is getting a face-lift. In the midst of all of the good construction comes the bad "road projects". There will be many lane closures and detours. Here are a few to avoid.... Mockingbird Lane Reconstruction as of June 10, 2013 has been restricted to one-way northbound from Behtel School to Oriele Ln. Detours and directions for southbound traffic are in place. Completion date scheduled for the beginning of the school year. The other big "project" starting soon is the bustling Sandy Lake Rd (from Denton Tap to N Coppell Rd). Sandy Lake is being constructed to a 4 lane roadway with medians, turn lanes, a sidewalk for pedestrians on the north side and a hike and bike trail on the south side. A traffic signal will be installed at S Coppell Rd and 4 lane bridge over Cottonwood Creek to improve drainage in the area. Construction should start soon and is anticipated to be complete Summer 2014. Minor delays will be experienced due equipment, shifting, and relocation.
