Coppell, TX water conservation plan has been reinstated at Stage 1 as mandated by the city's whole sale water supplier, Dallas Water Utilities. The recent rains have not been enough to replinsh the low lake levels. The seasonal outlook forecast by the National Weather Service calls for the drought to persist or maybe even intensify throughout the winter. The stages and associated watering restrictions are posted on the city's website at www.coppelltx.gov. The goal is to reduce water consupmtion by 5%. The current State 1 prohibits watering outside from the hours of 10am and 6pm by means of af any automatic or non-automatic spraying irrigation or device. However, hand watering will be allowed at all times. Should the city progress through the stages residnece of Coppell will be notified in their upcoming utilities statements. Most importantly if you are in violation of the ordinance a misdemeanor charge will be filed and is punished by a fine of $50 (first offense), upon a second conviction the fine is not less than $100, and the third and subsequent convitions will cost you between $100-500 each time!
