The Grapevine Vintage Railroad’s North Pole Express® is popular with families. The adventure starts at the Cotton Belt platform, where you board a beautifully decorated vintage rail coach. A live reading of a Christmas story will entertain as you make way to another platform that leads to the North Pole, where children eagerly search for Santa. Santa's helpers will entertain and Santa himself shares his Frosty Chocolate Snow Milk with all the boys and girls. Each family can then get their picture taken with Santa.
Another treat is ICE! at the Gaylord Texan Resort. Imagine a winter wonderland carved from 2 million pounds of ice, 1.5 MILLION lights, 15,000 ornaments, and a 54 foot tall tree. Numerous special events are planned throughout the exhibit so be sure to check the website for more details. Yes, coats are provided.
The Parade of Lights was originally scheduled for December 5 but has been re-scheduled to December 16 due to the recent ice storm. This much anticipated event features over 100 lighted floats and marching bands. There's no charge but claim your spot along Main Street early for the best view.
