Developers will break ground next year on a luxury hotel and conference center on Lake Grapevine.
New Era Hotels & Resorts and Sunset Legacy LP will break ground on the Pearl on the Peninsula Hotel & Conference Center in mid 2016.The Flower Mound city council approved the 12-story, 220-room hotel on Monday night.
The project will be built in the Lakeside DFW development, which is on FM 2499.
“Over 30 years ago, my father, Peter P. Stewart, envisioned an international hotel overlooking the lake to complement the new D/FW International Airport,” Alan Stewart with Sunset Legacy LP said in a statement. “Our family is thrilled that he will see this dream come true right before his ninety-fifth birthday.”
The 12-story hotel will be built on bluffs overlooking the lake and will include a 32,000 square-foot conference center.
DePalma Hotels & Resorts will manage the property, which is scheduled to open in late 2017.
Merriman Associates Architects designed the hotel. Balfour Beatty will be the design builder.
New Era Hotels & Resorts was formed by the founders of Rainier Medical Investments. The company is also building a 146 room Courtyard by Marriott hotel and conference space in the River Walk at Central Park development in Flower Mound.
