Located at 3107 McKinney Street in Melissa, Texas; the Melissa Community Outreach Center (MCO) is a local program of Go.Be.Hope that provides food and clothing (specifically coats) to families who have found themselves in crisis. Last month (May 2016) the MCO Food Pantry served 36 families and 141 individuals from Melissa, Anna, Princeton, McKinney and Blue Ridge. The MCO Food Pantry is open on Monday and Thursday evenings from 5pm to 6:30pm for those who are in need of food or who wish to donate or volunteer (sign up required...see below).
Summer can be a slow time for food donations due to family vacations and people traveling and currently the MCO Food Pantry is in need of the following *unexpired* food items:
This summer the MCO Food Pantry has been experimenting with a garden and fresh vegetables were recently distributed to those visiting the Food Pantry.
If you would like to volunteer at the MCO Food Pantry you can sign up on this page. Volunteer activities include helping to collect, sort or distribute food, tending the garden and other administrative tasks.
