Due to some growth and changes the Anna Food Pantry is in search of a new location. What or who is the Anna Food Pantry? Perhaps the mission statement from their website best sums it up:
The Anna Food Pantry seeks to provide food to members of our community who are in need due to financial problems. These situations could be a result of job loss, medical issues, divorce, natural disaster, and many other reasons. We gather, store, and distribute food and household supplies to those in need. The Anna Food Pantry strives to support members of Anna, Texas with compassion and dignity. We are a 501 (c ) (3) and look to collaborate with those who share our mission.
If that isn’t enough, their website offers this additional description as to who they are:
Honestly, we’re a bunch of normal people who have a heart for service and a compassion for our neighbors and community. The more we help our community, the more our passion grows to find other avenues to expand our organization. We find that our passion is contagious. We want our attitudes to be contagious.
Needs for a new location to house the worthy activities of the Anna Food Pantry include a facility that is a minimum of 700 to 900 square feet (or larger would be just fine) suitable for storage, shelving and food items and also has plumbing for a refrigerator and sink. It’s also timely to mention an additional way you can support the Anna Food Pantry: This Saturday, November 10th at 6pm is the annual Chili Cook-off and Silent Auction to be held at Pin Oaks Christian Fellowship, 501 S. Sherley in Anna. You can enter your prize-winning Chili for a mere $10 registration fee or for a $5 per person suggested donation you can attend the Chili Cook-off and enjoy the variety of Chili dishes entered in the competition (children under 10 years old eat free). Donations are also being accepted for Silent Auction items. All proceeds from the evening will benefit the Anna Food Pantry.
