There are some people that have not purchased a home because they are uncomfortable taking on the obligation of a mortgage. Everyone should realize that unless you are still living with your parents rent free, you are still paying a mortgage - either your mortgage or your landlords. As a paper from the Joint Centers for Housing at Harvard University explains: "Households must consume housing whether they own or rent. Not even accounting for more favorable tax treatment for of owning, homeowners pay debt services to pay down their own principal while households that rent pay down the principal of a landlord plus a rate of return. That's yet another reason often does - as Americans intuit - end up making more financial sense than renting. " Also, if you purchase with a 30 year fixed rate mortgage, your housing expenses' is locked in over the thirty years for the most part. If you rent, the one guarantee you will have is that your rent will increase over that same time thirty year time period. "Carol Holmes is an amazing Realtor. She far exceeded our expectations of the home buying process. This was our first home purchase together since we've been married and she made the process enjoyable and smooth unlike other realtors we've used in the past. She gave us A+ service and connected us with the best lender. She never left us hanging and made herself readily available for all of our needs including renting our old home. She has the best connections so call her! She is a joy to work with!"
