Last weekend my daughter kept asking, "What's inside of the big white tents?" Tuesday night, I surprised her with tickets (as a late Valentine's gift) to Cavalia Odysseo in Frisco, Texas. Not really knowing what to expect, we arrived early. A cool drizzly night, we were expecting it to be cold inside the tent. When we arrived, it was nice and warm inside. The stage was elaborate and covering over 175,000 square feet. Like two small children seeing snow for the first time, my daughter and I sat there amused for 2 1/2 hours. It was like Cirque du Soleil, but with horses. A few of our favorite pieces from the show.....The merry go round. A giant merry go round descends from the roof as 12 extremely talented acrobats gracefully do some amazing tricks on faux horses and the spinning poles. Next was the tribe from New Guinea. Playing the drums and doing some impressive stunts, dancing and tumbling all through horse poop! They also sing a song and get the audience to sing along, which is translated to "no more war on earth". The show ends with Elise Verdoncq and Omerio, her dressage stallion. A site to see with 80,000 gallons of water filling the bottom of the stage and all running through and having a good ole time. Tickets begin at $29.50. There are 63 horses and 46 humans. A night you won't forget!!
