Today's Denton County adventure took me to a place I've driven by a hundered times. Tierney's Cafe & Tavern was recommended to me by some very good friends. I was familiar with their previous dive, the Mill Street Cafe. When I found out the food was the same, just in a er-um, tidier atmosphere, I knew I had to go check it out. I still had dreams of the potato chip chicken, they are famous for! I must say, the location itself is so much more appealing. Its sits right in the heart of the historic Old Towne Lewisville. Tierneys occupies a historic old house with a full bar and an amazing patio area.
Did I mention the legendary potato chip chicken?...a thin breast of chicken breaded with crispy potato chips and served over a creamy caramelized onion sauce. It's so popular they feature it in several other ways on their menu...including a luxurious salad topped with an entire potato chip chicken breast and served with cilantro ranch dressing. The chicken was to die for, just like I remembered. Others at our table had chicken fried steak, and jalepeno chicken. They were all jealous of my potato chip chicken, but all agreed their meals were equally as delish.
I am told the Sunday brunch is a must do, as well as weekend nights on the patio, with live entertainment. I think Tierneys would make an excellent date night spot, family dining, lunch with coworkers or any other occasion which requires great home cooking in a cool atmoshphere.

"I first met Rick 10 years ago on a company incentive trip to Alaska and was appreciative of the advice he gave me as a newly promoted District Manager. Rick has always been a top producer, an award winner, but at the same time someone who was willing to offer advice, support or be involved in collaboration. He is highly respected amongst his peers, myself included and I look forward to the opportunity to work with him again in the future."
