EMPLOYMENT: Four of the top 10 metropolitan areas for job growth in 2013 are in Texas, according to Kotkin's website, New Geography. LESS EXPENSIVE TO LIVE: Stretching a pay check in some of these areas such as New York City and some major cities in California force people to be long term renters and live paycheck to paycheck. Texans have a much better shot at getting some of the perks of middle and upper middle class lifestyle. REAL ESTATE: Land is cheaper in Texas and you just get more for your money period. Property taxes are low here and property price/sqft are lower than most other states. Everything is bigger in Texas, and you just get more house for your money. LOW TAX: Texas is one of few states where residents do not pay personal state income tax. GOOD SCHOOLS/FAMILY FRIENDLY: Texas schools rank high compared to others states on their testing. Texas also has some of the largest cities to choose from in the nation, giving folks that live here plenty of options of exciting places to live.
