For a festive beginning to the Christmas holiday season, there is an all day Christmas event in Downtown Wylie on Ballard Street. If you have never been, it is very quaint. With many shops to check out and perhaps get a few things checked off your list. My favorite, of course, being Shoemaker & Hardt! A long-time favorite for shopping and the delicious coffee to warm you up! But, more on Shoemaker and Hardt later... There is an Arts Festival in the Event Center For First Baptist Church which is free and has over a 100 vendors! And, if that weren't enough, that evening there is a Parade & Tree Lighting! The tradition continues with the Festival of Lights Christmas Parade (5:30pm) sponsored by First Baptist Wylie and the Downtown Merchants Association. Top off the evening with the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony (7:00pm). The 2013 Festival of Lights Christmas Parade will be held on December 7 in conjunction with the Wylie Arts Festival in Olde City Park from 10 am to 8 pm. Previously a Chamber of Commerce event, the parade is now sponsored by First Baptist Wylie. For additional information, contact www.discoverwylie.com.. "Trenton Johnson was a joy to work with. He sold my home in less than a week. He ensured that we understood every step of the process. He also assisted us in purchasing our new home. He stuck with us the whole way through. I would recommend Trenton to anyone.
