The research is in from Realtor statistics, mortgage trends and builders: December is a great month to buy a home.Here is how December can work for you:
1.Those selling in December are often very motivated, which can lead to lower prices.You could be doing them a huge favor and getting a great deal at the same time.
2.If you close before the end of December, your mortgage interest, loan points and property taxes can be used to offset this year’s taxes (see your accountant for confirmation and details).
3.You can lock into lower mortgage interest rates before next year.
4.Builders often will offer additional incentives and upgrades at year end to clear out inventories and meet their sales goals, you just need to know how to ask and where to look.
5.There is less buyer competition in December, so you are much more likely to get that amazing home you’re dreaming of in those highly competitive price points! Many of these principles apply in January too.
